"The bike is money in the bank! Rode fifty hard on Saturday, over various terrains. There was one 6 minute climb or so with a 8% grade for a bit. The bike climbs like a dream!  Acceleration is solid and  I can barely feel the road.... Handling wise, since it is lighter there is a little user error with me, but once I get another ride on it, it will be ready to start cornering in packs. It's way responsive.... It's real sexy! "

The cross country bike ride is going well. We are currently in Escalante, UT having just finished one of our short legs. I attached a pic of me cresting the Sierra Nevada Mountains (I remember you wanted a photo). The bike is riding great! It is holding up against some really rough roads in Utah.

Oh yeah, I plugged Irish cycles on NPR and a few other radio shows!

Hope all is well.

"I’m racing for C4 and will be at the Greenville crits next weekend (first race since I was 16).  So we’ll see how things go there, but with that bike, I’m very confident I have a chance.  And yes, Greg told me it was sub-16 lbs, so I had to brag a little to some friends about that.  My girlfriend and Greg picked up my old Raleigh and about had a heart attack in the comparison in weight.  So I’m much happier on the road.  Between the weight of the bike and the position changes that Greg made with me last night, I think I gained 1 to 2mph easily.

The Irish was so good this morning, I had to go out on another short ride this afternoon after I emailed you.  :-}"

"First I have to say it was worth EVERY DAY of waiting for the bike!!

I finished my 5th ride on the Irish UHM frame today and have been trying to shake it out vs. just ride it.  I’ve tried my 28 spoke wheels and 20 spoke wheels.  Rode it on stationary rollers (to check my spin), up/down rolling hills, group rides, 80 mile ride, over chip seal, and got to try some end of ride sprinting today (39mph rollup to start thanks to Ken).  I think I have the setup dialed well now, I can spin, sprint, and its stable.  Can’t wait to take it to the real mountain climbs and feel the weight and stiffness going up a real hill.

After today's ride I don’t know how I will go back to my steel bike.  I used to hear some rubbing flex when I was out of the saddle sprinting on my steel bike (maybe it’s the fork). GONE.  The thing is so stiff I really  notice it accelerate when I jump on it and I mean NOTICE IT.  Sprinting ,it's awesome vs. my other bike, both in how fast it accelerates and how I can position myself on the bike based on its geometry so it feels very stable.   Maybe I’m a sprinter now vs. a climber..who knows? With this bike it's so fun..

I’m 5’3”, 123lbs and the geometry fits me well.  I was really worried about that at first.  Now you know it will fit someone as small as me just fine, even better than my 48cm steel bike.

I don’t feel it rides “dead” for whatever that means that some people say carbon bikes ride like.  I feel the road just fine and from a ride perspective seems just as lively as my steel frame was, and by that I mean I can feel every little dimple, bump, crack I go over but not to the extent I can’t ride 80 miles on a SLR saddle.  Even after my 80 mile ride last weekend I didn’t feel like my butt was any worse off than normal.

Just thought I would give you a quick e-mail to say “great bike” worth the wait."

"I don't have the words for how awesome a ride the new bike is.  It climbs like a champ and is flat out fast on the straights.... I look forward to another ride tonight!"

~ Keith, owner of a custom-painted white TNN with Rival and Zero Gravity

"My first Irish (an orange HM Force) received a lot of compliments. Actually, another local racer bought it from me, almost on the spot. I didn't want to give the Irish up because of the ride quality and how the geometry worked for me. After letting him have it, I upgraded to the UHM Force. The ride is not as smooth [as the HM] but I can really feel the difference in the carbon layup (stiffness/power transfer). I've liked the Irish bikes so much that my wife finally traded out her Litespeed for a HM Rival (luckily in my same size!) and she loves it. Both bikes handle very well and are better overall than my old [Orbea] Opal and my friend's [Cannondale] SuperSix. Thanks again for all the help! -

"The frame rides really, really, really, really well.  It honestly totally blew my expectations out of the water.  I think you've known me long enough to know that I won't blow smoke if I don't like something, and although I'll use tact, I'll generally tell stuff like it is.  The frame rides great.  I have zero gripes with it.  It's stiff as a board under power and I hit over 50mph a few times rolling through the mountains yesterday, and had no problems with it whatsoever.  The only thing that kept me from pushing faster was the grindy hub bearings in the power tap, and rocking crosswinds in the high mountains (the White Mountains are home to Mt. Washington, host of 200mph winds...).  It's super comfy, with no detriment I can find to it being so smooth."

- Noah, owner of a Tir na nOg Red, July 2008 from White Mountains, New Hampshire

"I got my new (Irish) bike yesterday and it is the most fabulous bike ever.  We fell in love on the first ride.  I can't say enough great things about it and I am very eager to get 'Luck E. Charm' out there."

- Milanne, owner of a Tir na nOg Force, June 2008 from Whispering Pines, North Carolina

"I think it's the fastest bike I've ever ridden. Very solid, very smooth."

- Joe, July 2008, from Chicago, Illinois, testing the Tir na nOg Rival

"It is quick and just climbs! My speed is up 2 to 3 miles per hour. I've owned aluminum, a semi-custom Colnago steel frame, and a Litespeed Bella. This is by far the best. It is so smooth, so solid. Plus, unlike my titantium bike, I actually can feel the road and there is no jarring or road buzz like there was on my aluminum or my steel Colnago."

- Kim, owner of a Tir na nOg Rival, May 2008, from Fayetteville, North Carolina
